once you finish OS installation, you can choose to install VMWare Tools.
it will install vga/lan/scsi ... drivers for you, of course, you can leave it alone.
it also allows you to move the mouse cursor between guest & host without pressing any keys.
one more feature, you may like it too. it is called share folder which allows you to copy files between guest & host.

if you don't have any valid serial number, I will suggest you to use VMWare Server instead of workstation. It is not only free, but it is also more advanced. Of course, there is no free lunch.
The performance is a little bit poor than workstation but you will never know ... haha ...

when you create a new virtual machine, you have to choose corresponding OS type.
Just choose redhat for installing fedora. it is a little brother of redhat ...
Also make sure choose scsi hdd, though ide hdd is workable.
others just use default values. Hope it can help.

重灌的時候注意要把以前的東西徹底格式化一邊，這樣的話可以省去很多不必要的麻煩
