The Lion Locomotive was built in 1838 by Todd, Kitson and Laird of Leeds. It ran on the Liverpool to Manchester railway until 1859. It was bought by the LMS company in 1920 and restored to full working oder. It later gained fame by starring in the British comedy film called 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'.

Glue these three together then glue into chassis. make the axle supports and glue these under the boiler and footplate. Then cut out the wheels and glue the spoke discs into the rims. Roll and glue the axles and glue between the wheels. Fit the wheels into the axle supports. add the splashers, footplate sides and details such as the steam valves etc. Then build the tender .
